Are you ready to become one of America's Toughest? There is one requirement - You acknowledge that the bowfin is a sportfish worthy of respect, promoting the BAG and our message when the opportunity arises. This membership is FREE!

It doesn't matter if you're an active finner, can't go finnin' as often as you like, haven't been finnin' in years, or have never caught a fin in your life, as long as you believe in "America's Toughest Sportfish For 100,000,000 Years!©". Our foreign friends, suffering miserably for want of bowfin in their homelands, are welcome to join too.

To all you finners that have been with us for years, we appreciate your support, but we're not adding anyone automatically so we can tell who is still with us and who has moved on. If you don't see your name on the list below, you haven't signed up. This requires action on your part (e-mail).

E-mail me (be sure our favorite fish is in the Subject line) with your name, state/province/country, any brief finnin' related info you'd like to note, and contact info.

So that our members can get in touch with one another (or stay private), we're offering three options for the contact info to be added to your listing:

Public

You pick a user name and BAGman will set up a user@bowfinanglers.com address (how cool is that!) that forwards to your existing e-mail account. You have only to check your regular e-mail. You still retain a bit of anonymity since it is filtered through bowfinanglers.com and can be terminated at any time you wish. Alternatively, we'll post your current e-mail address if that is what you desire.

Private

Contact is filtered through BAGman. You provide an e-mail address that stays hidden; members contact BAGman and he forwards the message. It is up to you to respond to the sender directly or through BAGman.

Unlisted

We don't bug you at all, although BAGman will reply to all your submissions.

As Chapters develop, we'll add the Chapters you are a member of to your listing. If a free membership is just too odd for you, stop by the BAG Gear page and pick up a sticker, shirt, hat, mug, or whatever to announce your membership to all your fishing buddies. What a great organization - optional membership fees!

Thanks to TimT, NC for this idea. The ID number is just to help differentiate since we don't use full last names. Name at bowfinanglers.com = name@bowfinanglers.com. This e-mail formatting is to reduce automatic spam - we're looking out for you. (03/03/07)

Chapters

Are you tired of being the Lone Finner? Set up (or join) a BAG Chapter! Entirely autonomous, you run it the way you like - dues or not, online or get together, events or chat - what ever you want to do. It can be geographic or you can pick any other criterium for your Chapter. What I can do is provide a subdomain (yourchapter.bowfinanglers.com) for you to post Chapter news if you want it, a section on the Message Board if you want it, and web help to get you started (I'm no expert, though), again only if you want it. (An example of subdomains - No Quarter is a subdomain of www.chuckthetruck.com but appears as a separate site.)

Send me the Chapter name you've chosen, contact info (this will be Public like above, but if you want a subdomain it will be user@yourchapter.bowfinanglers.com), Chapter criteria/info, and a member list, even if it is just you for starters. This will take time to develop so be patient, but it will take work on your part to promote your chapter. Ask for a subdomain or Message Board space if you want these features.

Becoming a recognized Chapter of the BAG will be free, but any inappropriate behavior (sponsoring a b@$$ fishing contest, for example) will be grounds for Chapter disbarment. All subdomains must remain family-friendly, i.e., no adult content. This is a requirement of the server as well as BAG.

Thanks to TimT, NC for this idea. (03/03/07)
